Week 28 - 3rd Trimester!

Happy Friday.
Here we are - another quick week come & gone.
I had a successful baby appointment on Wednesday - I took my glucose test, they measured my belly, the heart beat was nice & strong - and now we are really in the thick of it.
I start my 2 week appointments moving forward and I should be able to schedule the C-Section at my next appointment (hoping for 5/10).
We officially chose a baby name.
Josh's mom is here this weekend (she just arrived!) and after her visit, we'll turn the guestroom into the baby room and the office into the new guest room.
Lots to do - lots to prepare - getting really, really excited. And scared. And emotional.
Baby # 3 - we are so ready for you.

  • How far along? 28 weeks - 3rd trimester! Baby is the size of an eggplant.
  • Total weight gain/loss: Didn't weigh in.
  • Maternity clothes? ALL maternity. All the time.
  • Stretch marks? Not yet. Really holding on to hope.
  • Sleep: Not the best, not the worst. I'm waking up early and going to bed later for no reason.
  • Best moment this week: Passing my glucose test!
  • Have you told family and friends: I'm knocked up. I think all know.
  • Movement: ALL the movement. Waiting on hiccups! :)
  • Food cravings:  Chocolate. Fruit.
  • Anything making you queasy or sick: Not so bad.
  • Gender prediction: BOY!!
  • Labor Signs: No.
  • Belly Button in or out? Barely in.
  • Wedding rings on or off? Just wedding band on.
  • Happy or Moody most of the time: Emotional. No particular reason.
  • Weekly Wisdom: I passed my glucose test but I was told my iron is low. I don't want to take iron pills so I found a great list of foods that are high in iron.
  • Milestones: 3rd trimester is really exciting. 11 weeks to go.

Week 27.

Happy Friday, friends.
For some reason... maybe it's because the 3rd trimester is nearing, but I'm feeling the weight the due date approaching.
In roughly 12 weeks (hopefully exactly 12 weeks from today), our baby will be here and I feel like we have done zero to prepare.
Things to do:
1. Clean out the office (soon to be guest room) - purge all we can, the rest in storage.
2. Buy curtains for the windows, drapes for the doors and decorations.
3. Move all guest room furniture down to the office.
4. Find a new place for the litter box.
5. Hire a carpet cleaning company and have all carpets cleaned (especially the nursery).
6. Get my crib back from sweet baby Aurora.
7. Set up the nursery.
8. Ideally, all before the end of March.

Layla just started reading my blog (today...)
HI LAYLA JULES ENGLAND!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

How far along? 27 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: 22.4 pounds so far.
Maternity clothes? All the time.  Picking up new ones from Melanie soon now that she's all done and home loving on baby Lev!
Stretch marks? So far, the same old ones. Nothing new and hoping it stays that way.
Sleep: Decent! I'm still taking unisom and B6 which helps.
Best moment this week: I loved Valentine's Day yesterday - it was sweet and easy and I love my 3 (soon to be 4!) Valentines.
Have you told family and friends: Oh yes.
Movement: He moves ALL DAY LONG. But I can never seem to catch it on video.
Food cravings:  Green grapes.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I started a bunch with heartburn / acid reflux which is causing some nausea. No fun.
Gender prediction: BOY!!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly Button in or out? Flat and weird.
Wedding rings on or off? Just my wedding band.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy :)

Weekly Wisdom: We chose the official name (for now..) so I'm hoping that doesn't change.
Milestones: Last week of my 2nd trimester. AHHHHHH!

26 weeks with my baby # 3 :)

This morning, I had an ultrasound - all looks great and the baby was measuring at 2 pounds, 1 ounce. He's in the 56th % so he's not too big, though I feel so large. I wonder if he'll be a big baby like Benny or an average baby like Layla.

My next big appointment is my glucose test coming up in 12 days. I'm hoping I pass that - from there, it's one more ultrasound, regular doctor appointments - and hopefully scheduling the C-Section at my next appointment!!! :)

Cheers to a good week and to winter wrapping up - I'm ready for Spring, walks outside and all the fun things that come with the sun :)

(No picture this week because I forgot)

How far along? 26 weeks - baby is the size of KALE!

Total weight gain/loss: I did not weigh myself this morning. I'm a coward.
Maternity clothes? All the time. Yesterday, I chose to wear a non-maternity shirt and my belly peeked out the bottom all day, haha.
Stretch marks? I see them on my sides a bit - nothing on my belly. Sticking with Bio Oil.
Sleep: Not so bad - I have slept in the guest room the past 2 nights because Josh is getting over being sick - when I roll over in that bed, my back really hurts. I'm seeing a chiropractor to try and help with the pain but overall, sleep isn't bad.
Best moment this week: My ultrasound this morning - the baby was rolling and tumbling and I swear, his little profile looks JUST LIKE BENNY. I can't wait to see him.
Have you told family and friends: Unless I'm in something really huge, you can't hide this baby bump any longer!
Movement: He moves quite a bit - I love it :)

Food cravings:  This week, grapes.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope - overall feeling pretty good in that department.
Gender prediction: BOY!!
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? So flat. It may pop out at any second.
Wedding rings on or off? Just my wedding band. Engagement ring too tight :(
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Then moody. Then happy. It's a roller coaster of emotions.
Weekly Wisdom: I had in my mind that after our trip, we'd start on the nursery. Now I'm putting that off until March. I'm so nervous but really -- what does this baby need?? NADA but it's MAMA and some snuggles ;)

Milestones: I had an ultrasound this morning - I scheduled my last ultrasound for 6 weeks for now. Everything is wrapping up - I'm almost done with my 2nd trimester. It's flying.

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Can it be?? Is my baby boy finally SIX?? After counting down the past few months, it's officially your day. We are so happy buddy. You've been going through quite the transition these past few months... starting Kindergarten and finding out we were having a baby and discovering all of your emotions has made us navigate this season with you in a new light. You are in a good place now and for that we are thankful. We celebrated you with friends & family last night with a pizza party at the house - it was so much fun! It was smaller then a normal party because next week we are heading to DISNEY WORLD!!!! I can't wait to keep the celebration going - you are a joy.

1. You are SO HANDSOME. From your tall, lean body - your big brown eyes - your dark blond hair and the sweetest little face I ever did see. I could bite your dimples when you smile big. You are really tall but thin. Your skin still feels soft like a baby and when you crawl into my lap and snuggle close, I smell you in because I know soon you'll be too big to fit.

2. You are so SMART. This year was a big change - you are doing morning Kindergarten at one school and afternoon Kindergarten at another which...let's face it... is not your favorite. You'd prefer to stay at one school for the whole day and honestly, I can't blame you. It took you some time to adjust but I think we're there now. Your reading is getting really strong - I love when you read my an entire book and blink proudly while you're finished, on the verge of giggles because you really get it. Recently, you memorized Dada's cell phone number and you're so proud. You know random facts about all sorts of topics and I love the way your brain works. I always love the way you color - so precise and beautiful.

3. You LOVE food. I mean, honestly..you may love eating more then anything else in the world. Your favorites include (but are not limited to): eggs, bacon, potatoes, Gatorade (your latest obsession), plain spaghetti, meatballs, pizza, Italian hoagies, Chinese food, burritos, mac & cheese, strawberries, clementines, sloppy Joes, chocolate chip pancakes...the list goes on and on. You're always willing to try a bite of something and you're just fun to eat with.

4. Your favorite things include: video games (especially Mario Party & Fortnite on the Switch) and NBA & Fifa on the Xbox), TV (American's Funniest Home Videos, Peppa Pig & Llama, Llama), books, sports (basketball the most), coloring, traveling, playing with neighbors, sleeping at your cousins, dinner at Mom-Mom & Pop-Pop's, FaceTiming with Grandma & Grandpa, making up games with Layla, wrestling Dada & snuggling MAMA!

5. You are FUNNY. I don't know how else to put it - you LOVE making the room laugh and will tell any jokes or stories to get a giggle. Sometimes your jokes fail but you'll say them enough to make me laugh so hard the tears flow. You are really, really smart and I think stand up comedy may be in your future!!!

6. You say the word Pause as "Plause", you LOVE basketball and your wrapping your first season, you love sleepovers at anyone's else that will take you, you love sleeping on the sofa with Dada, you are iffy on school because you don't like the switching of schools mid-day, you hate sitting in the car too long, you love surprises, you can be the biggest mush and give the best kisses & hugs, you are very dedicated, empathetic, sweet, compassionate, serious and loyal. You are pain in the butt to get dressed in the morning - you love wearing shorts over pants - you love playing outside. You are, simply put, amazing.

My baby boy........ this will be a big year of change for you.

I have ZERO doubt you will be the most amazing, magical, loving big brother to your new baby in May.

I am so proud of the boy you are and know that we love you so, so, so very much.

xoxoxo
