Week 19. Almost half way there!!

Look at the gorgeous baby - see his heart?? See his sweet face??

My babe.
The size of a large heirloom tomato or mango.
The cause of extreme happiness, unsolicited tears, a bit of stress, an insane amount of love, nausea and severe back pain.

The only thing I think about, in addition to Josh & Layla.

Without going into detail (yet) ..... it's been a tough 8 days.

We are so excited to learn our sweet babe is a BOY.
We are so happy to know you are growing and thriving.

We received scary news at our anatomy scan resulting in a follow-up ultrasound (which was this past Wednesday), a future trip to Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, and assorted other tests and ultrasounds. I am working on staying positive and optimistic that everything will be fine. I am praying and relying on family and dear friends to stay calm. Stress does NOTHING good for me resulting in NOTHING good for baby. My chiropractor noted how emotional stress can be just as damaging as physical stress. She said I was completely out of alignment and tense. The body is a magical and amazing tool and I need it to be in the best possible shape in order to grow this gorgeous little man.

Josh has been a staple. He stays SO calm, so positive, it's incredible.

After our ultrasound on Wednesday, I left crying. He left smiling. He saw all the positive the doctor had to see where I ONLY heard the worst possible outcome. I am learning to be more like him.

Enough sadness. Say a prayer and move on. Don't worry until there is something to worry about.

Yada yada. ;)

I'm not fat. I'm pregnant. AND a little fat.

How far along? 19 weeks, 4 days.
Total weight gain/loss: Stress = weight gain. I weighed myself, quickly jumped off and decided this week doesn't count. I'm allowed because I'm the mama.
Maternity clothes? I need to get a few more shirts. I don't want to ruin all my shirts and stretch them out.
Stretch marks? Bio Oil - so far, none..
Sleep: I've had quite a few good nights of sleep in a row, which is HUGE. And needed.
Best moment this week: Picking out a crib. Picking out curtains. Feeling your sweet kicks. Seeing you at the ultrasound and learning you grew ONE ounce in six days!!! You now measure 11 ounces and your heart rate was 154 beats per minute!
Have you told family and friends: I'm so pregnant, strangers now notice. Cool.
Movement: Yes!!
Food cravings:  Nothing, really. Just no chicken please.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yesterday the hallway at work smelled like mildew and I almost puked all over the elevator. EW.
Gender prediction: BOY!!!!! I KNEW IT!
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: An assortment of (stressful) emotions. I cried driving to my parent's house last night while listening to Florence and The Machine's "Shake It Off". It's my favorite song at the moment.

Weekly Wisdom: Don't worry. Don't google. Rely on your sister.
Milestones: We learned our sweet babe is a boy.

Layla.. my sweet.

Playing with Mom-Mom Rose!!

I'm SO SO SO behind with Layla updates.... it's been a busy few weeks but amazing nonetheless. Layla's changing every day, growing by the second and more beautiful then ever.

A quick recap of the past few weeks/weekends:

1. A trip to the aquarium with Dada & Abbey allowing me several hours at home with nothing to do but SLEEP, lay (and a side dish of laundry). It was so very appreciated and they had a great time. He took our niece Abbey along and I gave him MAJOR credit for taking a 5 year and 1 year old - alone - to a big place like the aquarium. He did amazing!!! They came home fed, happy, napped and with brand new stuffed animals as souvenirs. So proud.

2. We had a great dinner at our dear friend's Ariel & Rich -- it was yummy and Layla got to play with baby Blake - she LOVED the piano!!

3. We had a HUGE weekend of parties - first, an amazing (and hopefully annual) party at Matt & Danielle's new house. It was amazing - face painting, moon bounce, lots of food and drinks - we spend the entire day outside with family and friends (and mosquitoes, eek) and it was a lovely time. Layla of course loved every second with all the kiddies and we had a blast. The next day, we ventured to New Jersey for my cousin Ivy's son's 1st birthday - Mason! He is SO SO cute and it was a really great time. Their house is gorgeous and I was inspired to decorate my own, stat. We also got to spend lots of time with Mom-Mom Rose which was the best part. After that, Layla and I went straight to a BBQ at Jaime's house -- too much fun!!! We saw tons of friends and it was great. Unfortunately, we also found out the devastating news about Josh's Uncle Stu's passing so we left early.

4. Josh's mama came into town this past weekend!!! ALWAYS a blast - we ate a lot, played a lot, celebrated Addison's 1st birthday, took lots of naps and Layla & Grandma got to bond!! It's always sad when she leaves but she'll be back in September to watch Layla for us while we escape to DC for a night - right around the corner!!!
5. Layla's becoming a walking MACHINE! These past couple of weeks, her confidence has sky rocketed and she's walking more and more!! I bought her new shoes (silver sandals, adorable) along with her sneakers to wear. I'm so proud of her!!

6. I've been going to the chiropractor 2-3 times a week. No big help yet but sometimes I bring Layla with me and she's hilarious. She stands at my head while I get adjusted and pulls my hair (ow).

7. She's back to napping twice a day, randomly.... back to sleep every 3 hours. She needs it!! Still going to bed at 7:30 and sleeping 11-12 hours.

8. She's a teething machine - lots of pain :( Tylenol and teething tablets help.. my poor girl.

9. She doesn't eat. I mean, she does.... but it seems like so not enough. I force feed her but she's a snacker with a random big meal here and there. Hoping this passes but I know she's getting enough. She drinks a ton of water and milk so at least there's that.

10. She is the funniest talker ever. Her latest vocabulary words are amazing and I'm obsessed. She's learning to say the new baby's name (it sounds like MONEY when she says it, too funny).

... okay, that's that. We are getting excited for music class starting September 10th and Romp And Roll starting Tuesday. I need to buy her school supplies (Sleeping Bag, Lunchbox, School Bag and more). She is such a toddler sometimes but still my BABE. She snuggles like no other and is in a bit of a mommy phase... I'm soaking up every second (so much that I didn't put her in for an afternoon nap because I wanted Layla cuddles - big mistake - naps are too important, haha).

Next week will include Layla's 15th month update (ahhhhhhh).

I'll update soon on baby BSE. Our newest little love.

Playing at Addie's house - her new car - of course Layla is saying.... MOM, CAN I GET THIS FOR MY HOUSE??

Grandma cuddles!!

A surprise visit from mama's BFF Aunt Rachel... we love her!!

Chowing down on a sour tomato. Ew.

Layla & Mr Bear... silently watching Tangled. Layla's favorite movie.

It's a.......

Mama's intuition strikes again ;)
We had our anatomy scan yesterday at 3 PM... after 30 or so minutes of a million measurements, the tech decided it was time to figure out the sex. And there it was. Almost immediately. My baby boy. Josh teared up. I shook and cried. I just knew it. Our little family of 4.. one boy and one girl. I can't believe it.

I have so much to update on and I hope to this weekend - Josh's mama is coming to visit so I'll have some computer time!! A few pictures...
One of the cookies we used to announce it's a BOY!! We stopped on the bakery on the way to dinner with my entire family (to celebrate my parent's 42nd wedding anniversary!) and I bought everything BLUE they had (cookies and a cookie monster cupcake) -- I let Layla open the box ;)

BOY!!!!!!!

hahahaha. I wish this face was because we told her it is a boy. She was just excited to see me because I was at work and the ultrasound all day. This is the picture we used to announce the sex on facebook.

My baby boy's giving a THUMBS UP! haha

A very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dear brother, Matt. I love you so much... thanks for the pep talk at 8:00 PM last night.

ALSO.... I have received quite a bit of good news from a few girlfriends lately announcing pregnancies. I can't wait until they go public but I'm SO SO SO thrilled for BSE's future best friends!!!

week 18!

My ever-changing belly. (Not sure why the picture is so yellow?)
How far along? 18 weeks, 2 days.
Total weight gain/loss: I'm up 0.6 pounds this week for a total of exactly 10 pounds.
Maternity clothes? All pants. Loving dresses. Wearing a shirt today that feels a bit tighter then I'd like to admit. Wore it anyway.
Stretch marks? Bio Oil - so far, none..
Sleep: One of my biggest struggles. Still dealing with bouts of insomnia. Last night was better then most. Also up to pee once a night.
Best moment this week: It has not yet occurred - finding out the sex tomorrow!! ;) Lots of movement. AND not gaining more then 1 pound this week is a success, haha.
Have you told family and friends: Yup! Can't wait to reveal the sex!
Movement: Yes!!
Food cravings:  Cold Stone Smoothie (got one and it sucked, very sad).
Anything making you queasy or sick: Some smells. Sometimes brushing my teeth.
Gender prediction: I'm sticking with my BOY prediction!!! I'm SO stinking curious.
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy :) :) :) Feeling better (ish) and ready to feel 100%! (Sometimes I think I'll have to wait until the new baby is about 5-6 months old before I feel better. EEK!)

Weekly Wisdom: Hug your loved ones. The new baby will be named for Josh's dear Uncle Stu - you never know what can happen.
Milestones: Anatomy scan tomorrow!!

Here we are, week 18!!
Lots to update on but of course my mind is mush.

We lost a family member this week... Josh's wonderful Uncle Stu passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 19th. It was devastating news -- Josh was extremely close with him growing up. The new baby will now be named for him. We're so sad to hear this and we're keeping Aunt Diane and the family in our thoughts.

I started officially going to the chiropractor. I like it - I haven't noticed any difference in back pain or headaches (or anything else, really) but I've only been adjusted twice. I'm hopeful after getting adjusted a few more times, we'll be in business. The office is very nice and I really like the doctor.

Josh's mama comes to town on Friday - wahoooooooo! :) :) I can't wait. We are going to register for the baby this weekend at Babies R Us!!!

I really need to clean out the nursery. Like, yesterday. My nesting is starting to kick in and the room is in desperate need of emptying and decorating. I am going to start looking at furniture this weekend too ;)

OK... that's that. I'll update soon on the past 2 weeks of Miss Layla and everything good!!!

(p.s. anyone have any amazing "S" names they want to share???)

17 weeks!!!!!!!

My babe, the ONION or TURNIP!
Another week, come and gone.
Slowly pushing through the nausea, less and less each day!

Still have the terrible back pain -- went to a chiropractor last night for a consultation and was really happy at the thought of being a little less pain free. She also thinks getting adjusted will help with headaches, insomnia, energy and acne - who knew?? we'll see. Josh told me not drink the Kool-Aid yet, haha. I go back Saturday for my first real appointment.

Had to have bloodwork done yesterday because my nephew, Max, was diagnosed with Parvo (5th's Disease) this week. Not a big deal for kiddies but can be pretty bad for a preggo so I had bloodwork yesterday to make sure all is good.

One week from today ...and we can finally find out if Layla will have a little BROTHER or SISTER!! I'm just hoping baby bear is happy, healthy and moving all around like the little gummy bear she/he is.

I'm also POSITIVE that I've felt movements this week. THE BEST, sweetest little thumps -- not quite enough for Josh to feel yet but soon enough.

I have to admit I keep forgetting I'm pregnant. Then I look down and see my ever-growing belly and I'm reminded that in just 5 short months - our sweet family of three will be a big family of FOUR!

Please excuse morning hair and pajamas - working from home today!

How far along? 17 weeks, 3 days.
Total weight gain/loss: SO remember last week how I lost a pound? WELL - fear not - this week I GAINED 3.2 pounds. I can't explain it. (I mean, maybe a little more ice cream then normal?) - I'm now up 9.4 pounds. It is what it is. I'm coming to terms with the fact that my body likes to gain weight while pregnant. It clearly needs to. And I need to let it. And I need to not get sad. But it's okay to cry.
Maternity clothes? I need to grow my wardobe. I may hit up some stores over the next few weeks for key pieces.
Stretch marks? Bio Oil - so far, none..
Sleep: Off & on. Up to pee once a night.
Best moment this week: Feeling the first offical movement!
Have you told family and friends: Yup!
Movement: Yes!!
Food cravings:  1000 Island Dressing. Salad. Chocolate Dipped Cones.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I keep eating it, but red sauce is defintely not my friend lately.
Gender prediction: I'm sticking with my BOY prediction!!!
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy :) :) :)

Weekly Wisdom: Stop with the weight gain worries. Keep eating. Keep moving. It'll come off post-baby. Thank the lord for breastfeeding.
Milestones: One week until anatomy scan!!

McDonalds Ice Cream Hot Fudge Sundae - complete with a scoop of peanut butter on top. Also known as heaven.

14 months.

WHAT IS THIS STICKER NONSENSE??

And I'm clearly going to remove this sticker....

um, mom.. seriously. I'm 14 months and you're still making me pose with Mr Bear?

Here Mr Bear -- YOU wear the sticker!!!

I am OVER this!

No more sticker smiles!!
Layla's current favorite face. Josh calls it HULK.

I am outta here. Good luck next month, Ma.

14 month stats:
Weight: If I had to guess, between 23-24 pounds.
Height: Also a guess...31 or so inches?
Eating: A struggle. 3 meals a day. Lots of snacks. 3-4 glasses of organic whole milk.
Clothes: 12 month, 12-18 month, 18 month.
Diaper: Size 3 (getting to be too tight). Size 4 mostly.
Shoe Size: 4 1/2 :)

Layla Jules...
I have to say.. this may be my FAVORITE month yet!! You have completely changed from baby to toddler (in every way possible) and it's so insane and exciting to see how much you are changing, constantly!! Gone are the days of sitting quietly and playing. You are a girl on the go, always moving, always talking, always giggling and always playing!! We are constantly teaching you new words and you are soaking everything up like a sponge. It's a magical and exciting time in your life and we're so excited to watch every second.
Now that you are "walking" (I use this term loosely as crawling is still your main mode of transporation) and moving, you are starting to thin out about. Your rolls are beginning to fade (ahhh) but you still are baby. You chubby cheeks and little face is so beautiful. You REALLY need a haircut as your bangs make it impossible to see but I refuse to do it again. Your hair is getting so long in the back and you are very good at letting me clip it back or put in a ponytail. It's fun but I have to decide soon what to do with your hair because you really can't see when it's down :( haha...
You really pick up everything and FAST. You dance, clap, sway and move your head to music. You nod your head YES and NO perfectly and love to yell out the words "yes" and "no" all the time. You like to pretend to snap. You love to pretend to jump. It's been over 2 weeks since taking your first steps and you haven't ventured much further then 10 or so steps at a time. You are great at holding on to people's hands and walking (running!) and holding on to furniture/walkers/toys while walking but you don't have the confidence to walk completely on your own yet. Take your time, my sweet girl. You are so careful in everything you do and I know you'll be running circles around us soon. When you DO walk, you smile and squeal in delight - I love how proud you are! You love to play with your toys and I am constantly trying to find new and educational things for you to play with. Currently, I think your favorite toys are Ernie, your car, your walker and your elephant (you put a ball in the ear and it pops out the nose). You love to "read" books to yourself but rarely sit for an entire book on my lap, unless sleepy. That's okay - I'll continue to read to you and I know you are listening!
As fast as the movie "Rio" came into our lives, it has gone.. you are no longer intrested in watching! (Earlier this month, you woke up yelling BIRDS which meant watching Rio). You watch "Third and Bird" (a show Aunt Sydney found), "Sesame Street" and bits of movies (all different) but we really try to limit your TV time.
Two days shy of turning 14 months you are DONE with bottles!!! We are SO proud of you!! On top of that, you are having the best sleep of your life. You are now sleeping 11-12 hours a night (sometimes 13!!) and it's a whole new world for us. Your new bedtime is closer to 7:30 (sometimes 7:00, sometimes 7:45). You nap once a day about 4 hours after you wake up and sleep anywhere from 45 minutes to two and a half hours. Somtimes you will take a shorter nap later in the day, especialyl if we are in the car. You seem to nap best for me (versus at Mom-Mom & Pop-Pop's house or with Brooke, the nanny) but that's okay. I'm with you the most so it works!
Talking MACHINE - I'm SO impressed by everything you say, it's unbelieveble. I can't even list all of your words but some of your favorites are Mama, Dada, Rigby, Cat, Birds, Books, Shoes, "Nana" (banana), Blueberries, Mom-Mom, Pop-Pop, Gran'Ma (Grandma), Milky (Milk), Dirt, Socks, Night-Night, "Cock" (LOOK - hahaha - took me a while to figure out the meaning) and I LOVE YOU! You repeat everything. You also say some sentances. I'm so proud and love to hear what else you have to say.
Food is our biggest battle right now -- you refuse to eat anything but fruit, cheese, yogurt, bread, milk, water (sometimes) and peanut butter. I keep trying and I'm hopeful you will start eating more soon. You love all the organic snackfoods I buy. Your absolute favorite are bananas and blueberries. We bought all the ingredients for spinach and fruit smoothies so we'll try those this weekend.
A big and exciting thing we did was sign you up for SCHOOL! You are going to the same synogogue as your cousins, Ava & Marley. Ava won't be there anymore (she's starting 1st grade) but Marley will! You will be going two days a week (Wednesdays and Fridays) starting in December. You'll be 18 months old. I'm so nervous but I know you'll love it. You are a social butterfly and love to play with other kids and be around them. We were going to start in January but the director suggested starting furher away from when new baby is due. I think this is smart. I know you will learn and grow even more by being there. School and education is so very important to us - this is only the beginning of many years of learning :)
New baby will be here in 5 short months. I'm sad that these will be the last 5 months you have our undivided attention but I KNOW you will love having a playmate, friend and confident in the house. I'm torn between wanting a boy (for daddy) and a girl (for you) but either way, you'll be a great big sister and you will ALWAYS be my best friend.
I love you! Can't wait to see what's in store next!
xoxo
Courtney

16 weeks. 4 months down!

  • A good week!! 16 weeks... the baby is now an AVOCADO!!! YUMMY! :)
  • Heard the heartbeat - sounds perfect!!
  • Layla turned 14 months and is the most amazing little person. Update on her next!
  • We played a lot of monopoly this weekend. We are currently tied 1-1. We go through phases with Monopoly - Josh & I don't fight often, but when we do it's usually related to board games and hanging artwork (haha).
  • I NEED to find & fill out the hospital paperwork ASAP and mail it off... it's mega important.
  • I need to finish up Layla's 1st birthday thank you notes. I'm seriously late. Blah.
  • We had great play dates this week with Blake (Ariel & Rich's 6 month old adorable baby boy) on Sunday and Addison (Keith & Melissa's adorable soon-to-be 1 year old!) on Monday. Layla LOVES playing with other kids and I love mommy time!!
  • Layla is starting SCHOOL! 2 days a week starting December.... ohmygod. More on that later as well. We are so excited and couldn't have picked a better place.
  • TWO MORE WEEKS UNTIL WE FIND OUT THE SEX!! Place your bets ;) And let me know of a fun gender reveal!

Popped! Belly keeps changing.

How far along? 16 weeks, 3 days.
Total weight gain/loss: Lost a pound this week - making up for my gain last week! I'm now up 6.2 pounds.
Maternity clothes? I think it's time to go shopping for some maternity - I'm mostly okay with pants (may add another pair or two) but I want some more shirts, skirts and dresses. I bought a really cute skirt from Target Maternity the other day but it's reaalllly big on me and i doubt the small will fit. Torn as I love it but it'll a waste if I can't wear it!
Stretch marks? Bio Oil is my drug of choice..
Sleep: Waking up to pee. Waking up with anxiety (weird). Waking up from bad dreams. But (mostly) able to fall back asleep. Naps help.
Best moment this week: HEARING THE HEARTBEAT!!! That sweet sound was music to this mama's ears. The doctor found it RIGHT away and said the baby was moving all over the place! The heart rate was in the 150s!
Have you told family and friends: Yup!
Movement: I KNOW I felt movement last night. The doctor asked if I was feeling any yet and I told her I THINK I am.. she said over the next week or two I'll feel it more and more ;)
Food cravings:  1000 Island dressing. Salads. Watermelon. Peanut Butter. Bagels.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I think I may be coming to the end of the nausea road, finally! Yesterday afternoon wasn't too great but looking forward to nausea-free days.. hopefully soon.
Gender prediction: NO IDEA! 2 weeks from today and we finally find out!!
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy :) :) :) In love, healthy and I currently have the cutest 14 month old I've ever seen.

Weekly Wisdom: Play more monopoly. It's really fun.
Milestones: We heard the heartbeat, we made our anatomy scan appointment, Layla turned 14 months... big things!!

Belly in clothes!

The BIG 30 for Dada!

What a greaaaaaat week we had!

My best friend, the love of my love, my other half and the best Dada this side of the Mississippi turned the big 3-0 on Sunday. He was having a hard time with the idea of leaving his 20's and I wanted him to see how awesome his 30's would be. Besides, isn't it weird to share a decade as a daddy with a throwing up 21 year old ;) It's time to realize 30 is the new 20 and we couldn't have been more excited to shower him in love and surprises!!

Last Friday, Josh's mama was scheduled to fly in. Josh started to suspect something was up (I bought Josh's mom her favorite yogurt ahead of time and he suspected something) but he was still shocked when I went to pick up "lunch" and returned with his mama!! After Layla woke up from her nap, she was equally as excited and thus began the weekend of fun. I went for a mommy afternoon to get my eyebrows waxed and a mani/pedi (holy moly. I opted for the deluxe extended massage pedicure and I'm hooked). Later that night we went for dinner at Cheesecake Factory - always yummy!! The Olympics started and I passed our shortly after.

My handsome man cheering to turning 30!
Saturday, we woke up - got ready and I went to the salon to get my haircut and colored (finally) - prior to leaving, I told Josh to shower and pack and be ready by 12:30. He was pretty surprised and continued to ask where we were going.. I never caved and left for my appointment. Got home, kissed our sweet girl goodbye and on the road we were.... he quickly discovered we were NYC bound and smiled the whole drive there. We had a lot of traffic (an intense amount going through the tunnel) but finally made it to our hotel. We stayed at The Strand Hotel in midtown (I found it on jetsetter.com) - it was very nice. The room was small but clean and pretty. Our view was of nothing good but was fun nonetheless. We quickly valeted our car, checked in, sat down for a minute before we were in a cab again - we had show tickets to TRACES! Josh was so excited.. this was a show we randomly saw on America's Got Talent and thought was amazing. It was basically a Cirque De Sole-style show. We had 5th row center seats and we loved the whole performance. I think my mouth was wide open in amazement the entire time!! After the show, we cabbed it back to the hotel to relax for about an hour - we then got ready and went to our favorite restaurant, Piccolo Angolo. YUMMMMMMY. We stuffed our faces. In a food coma, we walked around a bit then headed to the bar to meet up with my best friend Rachel & her husband Jason. I also surprised Josh & invited his dear friends from growing up, Haylee & Amanda. It was a great group and we stayed out having drinks (me, water..) for a couple of hours before I realized my eyes were shutting. Back to the hotel!

Sunday (Josh's actual birthday) - we Josh slept in while I patiently waited for him to wake up. I sung him happy birthday, realized it was bad nausea day for me (uhhh) but tried to push through. After 3 failed attempts at finding a breakfast place, we walked a bunch and found a cute little place to eat. A good amount of food in our tummy and we walked back to the hotel, checked out and left! We made awesome time home (no traffic) and played the BEST music ever (we took turns picking random obscure songs that popped into our head). Of course it was the most amazing thing to get home to Layla (Josh's mom takes the best care of her!!) and we smothered her in a billion kisses. We were starving so of course we were off again to the new Ale House that just opened in our neighborhood - really nice and so good!! Josh & Layla wore the shirts I bought them - they looked adorable. After lunch, me and Josh crashed while Layla & Lisa played. One last surprise... at 5 PM, my entire family and a few close friends came over for pizza, beer and cake!!! It was the perfect way to end the night.. the kids all played, Josh and my brothers played basketball, we all relaxed and it was a great night.

Josh's shirt - "Vintage 1982" Layla's shirt - "My Dada is 30" with her name on the back (etsy.com)

Monday, I didn't feel good (again) but I managed to wake up and head to Costco with Lisa & Layla. Home for naps, then we went out again to the mall -- I met the nicest mama there and I really wish I got her number. She had the cutest little girl (1 month younger then Layla) and she recently moved to the area. I regret not getting her number and I'm hoping to find her at the mall again (I'm so weird) - mama friends are hard to find!! ANYWHOOOOO.. we shopped a bit (this weekend Layla got her first pair of sneakers from Stride Rite and the cutest outfit from Baby Gap, thanks Grandma!!!). Monday night, Josh's mama cooked yummy spaghetti and meatballs. (OK now I see why I gained 2.8 pounds this week. I ate. A lot.)

Tuesday, Josh's mama left. :( We hate when she has to go... but she'll be back in August, September AND November.. wahooooooooo!!!! After the airport, Layla & I took naps then went to lunch with my amazing neighbor Deni... it was our first lunch out together and definitely not our last. I'm SO excited to have a neighbor I love and she happens to be pregnant, due 4 days before me!!! :) :)

SO that's that.... we had a great week. Layla is doing amazingggggg. NEW words everyday. I can't wait to write her 14 month update next week because I think this past month has been her biggest month of growth yet... walking, talking, a whole new little girl!!!
Until then, ta ta and cheers to hopefully feeling better sooooooon!!!

Pretty. And serious.

15 weeks.

That is the weirdest shape belly I've ever seen, hahaha. Totally different then Layla!
  1. I'm STILL not feeling well. I am patiently waiting praying that I start to feel better soon. It's so hard but I'm pushing through and only complaining to Josh ;) It's a lot nausea and a lot of feeling like poo.
  2. We had a great week - I'll write about it in a bit!! Josh turned 30, Josh's mama visited and we went to NYC and assorted other goodness!
  3. I can't wait for Layla to realize she's going to be a big sissy. I'm having feeling of guilt but I know she's going to LOVE having a baby of her own - she's obsessed with Remi, our niece... I mean.. obsessed. EVERY baby we see (regardless of age, size or race) is REMI. It's adorable.
  4. We picked out names for the baby but we're still up in the air on a middle name for a girl. I wonder if we won't have to worry?? I can't wait to make my next ultrasound appointment (weeks 18-20).
  5. They switched my appointment on me... it's now on Monday. BOOOOOOOO!

How far along? 15 weeks, 3 days.
Total weight gain/loss: Something seriously bad happened. I gained. A LOT. My body went insane.. what is happening?! I gained 2.8 pounds and I'm now up 7.2 pounds. You read that correct. I'm terrified that I'm going to have another 52 pound weight gain. Granted, we ate a lot these past 2 weeks (hello dessert, fried food and assorted other yumness). I've decided to journal everything I eat this week in the hopes I can curb my gaining the next couple of weeks. I'm not freaking out (too much) and hoping my body will regulate itself. For me, this is the hardest part of pregnancy.
Maternity clothes? I'm in maternity pants now. All the time. I haven't tried my regular jeans in about a week and I think I'm not going on. What's the point? These are way comfy. Today, I'm sporting my new bright blue straight jeans from GAP maternity - they are adorable.
Stretch marks? I see some faint ones on my side. None on my belly.

Sleep: Insomnia is mostly better. I shut off Layla's monitor sound at night and it's made a huge difference (she tends to cry out in her sleep and it would constantly wake me).
Best moment this week: Celebrating Josh's 30th birthday!! We were supposed to have the babe's appointment this afternoon and they rescheduled it for Monday - I'm totally bummed. I was so excited to hear the heartbeat!
Have you told family and friends: Yup!
Movement: I'm almost positive but nothing consistent yet.
Food cravings:  Bagels. Hot dogs. SALAD - with 1000 Island Dressing. I have a salad once a day.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nausea everyday. C'MONNNNNN 2nd trimester bliss, find me!
Gender prediction: I'm now leaning towards GIRL. I completely flip-flopped!! I'm so confused and can't wait to find out!! I'm thinking 60/40 (girl/boy). Josh is now team BOY!
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Other then the weight gain, I'm feeling happy. We had a great week as a family and I'm so excited to add a 4th member!!

Weekly Wisdom: Stop comparing yourself (weight-wise, nausea-wise, etc) to everyone. It will make you insane.
Milestones: JOSH TURNED 30!!!!!!! And didn't cry!!! I'm proud of you babe!!!
